Good morning
I am over 40 and did a fair amount of research before purchasing and using this device. I note my age, so those that are like age, will understand that we just dont heal as fast as we did when we were 20. 8^)

Anyways, I may have been a bit agressive, so yes the cold purple glan was a staple the first few days, and with that so was the pain. But as many men of my generation, we understand that if there is no pain then there is no gain. So I wore it as tight and as fully stretched as possible. As a result I immediately had stretch marks and raw inflamed skin around the base of my shaft where the base plate sat. Also extreme tenderness around the strap at the head around the comfort strap. Please do not get me wrong, I wore it by choice and through the pain, hoping to see results, not .5 inch in a week, lets be realistic, but something.

Good news is that I did, just not what I had expected. First and foremost the stretching of the skin from base to head. This was a result of the stretched, inflamed skin at the base of my penis.

Lesson learned: after the preemptive stretching a good line of Vitamin E lotion around the base of the shaft, where the back plate will be placed, works wonders at allowing the skin to slip past the base plate of the X4 thereby allowing your shaft to be stretched and not your skin. On the flip side, a by product of skin stretching is that the most noticeable change that I have seen over the last 2 weeks has been in girth and erection firmness. See, I have ED and have been on Viagra for a while, so I was pleasantly surprised when I had my first rock hard erection with out the pill.

Now the RINGS????

So, I work the back 12, and I am always on my feet, so I wear the device at work. I use the comfort straps, point the device up, tuck my t shirt over / under the installed device, then my boxers over my t shirt to hold everything in place than pants and belt as normal. At this point the device is noticble, and unless I want to walk around with everyone thinking that I have an erection, i leave my outer shirt untucked. This still looks normal and no one is the wiser. The device starts to become painful the more you walk, but at the same time the lotion at the base helps minimize friction and in all the honesty the walking simulated stretching exercises. So i paced myself and kept walking.

As a result the first two days, I heard/felt a pop or two. Nothing dramatic by any means, but I did notice while removing the device that I had two VERY noticeable rings around the shaft. Perfectly round rings that were raised like a speed bump, completely encircling one geometric plane on my shaft. I assume that this is cartilage separation, but like I said, I assume....

So my question is this. Have any of you experienced a similar thing with the rings, and is it a good thing?

I suggest you scale back your routine. "No pain no gain" does not apply to PE. Your dick is not a muscle. With traction you need less tension and more hours to begin with. Going to hardcore can actually cause you to turtle and can have negative gains. Monitor you erection qualities and quantities. If they are suffering scale back.

I've got the raised rings once or twice, was from having the two straps too tight. Its swelling under the skin. Much like if you keep a pump on too long. It cuts off circulation, meaning there is no oxygen getting to that portion of your dick. It's just water build up under the skin, but not recommended to go too long without oxygen replenishing. Massaging it will knock it down quicker, but if you just leave it, itll still go down and disperse back into your system and will be discarded as your body feels is best. Usually urination. Itll just take a bit longer to go away if you leave it alone. Usually a couple hours. Cut ba k on how tight you wear the straps and you'll be ok.
New to PE, just started using my x4 patriot edition extender. Hoping to get some gains from it. 1.5" FL, 5.5" EL to start. :(
